The ride starts
on the northern outskirts of the town.
Climbing starts almost immediately through the vineyards and
then onto the northern Jan Phillips Mountain Drive to the reserve gate.
After a
short return ride up to Gordon Rock, the route follows a circular, anti
clockwise direction around Bethal Dam and back to the reserve gate.
The route
then takes you mostly downhill to the tar road finish outside of the town.
